Sorry Tree

The children can create a sorry tree. This will help them understand that being sorry is more than just saying sorry especially if you say it to get out of trouble. This can also be a good way to talk about problem solving after saying sorry.

The tree can be divided into three parts:

  • What to say: Here the children will write some tips about what to say to make sure that the other person knows that you are sorry.
  • How to say it: These are things that need to be done while you are saying sorry. These can include eye contact, tone of voice and body language to show the person that you are apologetic.
  • Problem Solving: After saying sorry, what will happen? This can be an opportunity to talk about what being sorry really means and what happens after saying sorry. What can the next step be?
